GREENSBORO — Union Point resident Crystal Champion, Human Resources Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation is among five select Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company worldwide employees to be honored with The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standard Award, one of the 151,000-employee company's highest forms of recognition.
Once a struggling single mom, Crystal Champion is now an accomplished leader in her field. Crystal began her journey in 2002 at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia as Human Resources Coordinator. She excelled in this role, ensuring that the Ladies and Gentlemen were always her first priority. Opportunities took her outside the HR department where she became the hotel’s Back-up Paymaster for Accounting and frequently did “lateral service” shifts in Banquets. In 2004, Crystal was selected to join the Human Resources team at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation for her talents, skills and abilities, as well as her passion and commitment to the company’s Gold Standards.
As Human Resource Manager for The Lodge, Crystal has consistently and effectively delivered remarkable results in employment, recruitment, and retention. She has been honored several times with the resort’s quarterly Five Star Award. Nominated by her peers, this award recognizes exceptional employees that have risen above the standard requirements of their specific duties. Crystal has also won the Leader of the Quarter Award and the prestigious Leader of the Year Award. Her vast job knowledge in her discipline has made her a role model for other Human Resources professionals in the company.
The Gold Standard Award recognizes an elite group of Ladies and Gentlemen – both non management and management – who exemplify exceptional service and a commitment to company philosophy.
Receiving the Gold Standard Award is a special honor. Crystal and the other recipients receive a special Gold Standard Award pin, a certificate, and a personal letter from The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company’s President, Mr. Simon Cooper.
