Popular mystery dinner returns with “Lights! Camera! Murder!”
EATONTON — You are invited to come socialize and schmooze with A-list celebrities at the most elaborate party of them all. As the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce presents its wildly popular annual murder mystery dinner theater, “Lights! Camera! Murder!” This year will be the most anticipated theme yet, with the Academy Awards presentation having just presented the Oscars, the post-ceremony bashes must certainly abound.
Local Hollywood millionaire Vanity Affair simply refuses to be outdone and will host the event Friday, March 5, and Saturday, March 6. With other top star personalities on the guest list, such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Steve Carell and Marilyn Monroe, you will walk the red carpet in style as the paparazzi flashes your photo and the fans all cheer. Both nights are promised to be tantalizing as they offer dinner, dancing, drinks, a costume contest and, of course, murder.
You have heard rumors that Director Hobart Hughes may be casting his new film based on more than just on-screen talent. Broken-hearted Jada Broken’s career may be on the fritz, while Jada’s ex-fiance, Hunter Star, may not be so interested in his former pop band’s reunion tour with his solo career rising. While scandals are certainly expected in Tinseltown, a murder is not. With a V.I.P. victim and the celebrities all suspect, you will be called upon to find the criminal by cracking this red carpet caper.
Will it be an aspiring actress, tired of living in the shadows? A livid lover who has been pushed too far? Or possibly the teen starlet trying to attract a more mature audience?
As the night unfolds, so will a web of lies and scandals intricately woven to point you to a killer. It is up to you to uncover the clues or the culprit will remain concealed. You could be pointing the finger at your husband, mother or even your very best friend!
Help solve the crime, enjoy dinner, dancing and music, a costume contest and red carpet paparazzi at 7 p.m. at the Plaza Arts Center. Tickets will be on sale at the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce for $35. Tickets make the perfect unique date night activity, guarantee a night of laughs with girlfriends or a fun evening with your book club, church group or neighbors.
Characters will be assigned when tickets are purchased. You can choose your level of involvement by requesting a major or minor character. Major characters will go fast, so don’t delay in buying your tickets. When purchasing a ticket, guests will receive a character description, suggested costume ideas and a copy of Page Six for background information on the evening’s events. The roles have been loosely based on the character’s true life and are not actual portrayals. Stories and circumstances have been dramatized.
For more information, call the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce at (706) 485-7701 or visit The Plaza Arts Center, 305 N. Madison Ave., downtown Eatonton. Thank you to the sponsors who made this evening possible: Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee, Farmers & Merchants Bank and Fowler Flemister
