Grief support group to hold supper, planning session

GREENSBORO — A Lake Oconee grief support group will hold a supper and program on Monday, Sept. 13, at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church.

The Compassionate Care/HELP Ministry of Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church will meet at the church on Monday, Sept. 13, at 6 p.m. There will be a light supper and dessert followed by a program on “hope.”

According to Tom Branan, LOPC elder and coordinator of the ministry, “Hope is what frequently gets us through each day. Throughout the Bible there are many references to hope and we will look at some of them.”

Also, David Toller, a former minister and counselor, will read scripture and lead a discussion on finding hope through the Lord.

Also, the group will discuss programs and activities for the coming months.

The Ministry is open to anyone in the community who has suffered the loss of a loved one. Typically, the group meets the second Monday evening of each month.

If you have questions, please call LOPC at (706) 484-0600. The church is located at 113 Scott Road , just off Hwy. 44 near the Putnam-Greene county line. Or go to the church website at www.lopc-pca.org.
