Linda McGhee has been named as a board member of ATLAS Ministry, Inc., a non-denominational Christian organization serving Greensboro and the surrounding area.
Mrs. McGhee is a lifelong resident of Greene County who worked with the Greene County School System for 34 years. She taught third grade for 17 years and was the school wide social worker for 17 years. After retiring in June 2007, she returned to work in a part-time position for two additional years.
Professionally, Mrs. McGhee has a B. A. degree in sociology, a Master’s degree in early childhood education and in school/home services, and a Specialists degree in general education.
She is a member of Springfield Baptist Church where she sings in the Sanctuary Choir.
Also, she participates in Sunday school and Bible study classes. She is married to Stephen McGhee and they are parents of seven children.
“We welcome Mrs. McGhee’s knowledge of the Greene County community and her administration and leadership skills to the ATLAS Ministry board of directors,” says Mike Daniels, chairman of the organization. “We are excited to have her on our board and we look forward to working with her.”
In addition to the ATLAS board, Mrs. McGhee serves on the boards for Habitat for Humanity and TenderCare Clinic. She recently joined the St. Joseph East Hospital Auxiliary.
ATLAS works with local families who are deeply committed to change, helping them to reach vital life values. Additionally, the organization teaches values and principles for success to students within the local school systems through its HOPE division (Healthy Options for Personal Empowerment).
