Madison Museum to host Ransom

MADISON — The Madison Museum of Fine Art, American will host Realist Artist Henry Ransom Saturday, March 6. Refreshements will be provided. Specific to his work, Ransom will describe the genesis of his subject matter, the evolution of his work from Peoplscapes to Floorscapes to Sheetscapes to Earthscapes, his early and late influences, and what he hopes the viewer to experience when standing before his works. Of interest to other artists, Ransom will also describe how the study of Chinese calligraphy has significantly influenced the composition of his works, his development of a unique “signature” look, the creative process in a vitual vacuum and the early art exercises that helped him draw forth his unique style of work. The event begins at 2 p.m. at the museum, located on the Couthouse Square in Madison. Admission is $10 per adult, $5 per youth, Children under 6 free. R.S.V.P. by calling (706) 485-4530.
