ORHS' pets want to send you to Cancun

GREENSBORO — This Valentine's Day why not let a four-legged friend treat you to a dream vacation? The pets at Oconee Regional Human Society (ORHS) are offering a two bedroom, two bath Oceanview condo at the Royal Caribbean Resort in Cancun to one lucky winner of the Rest & Rescue Raffle.

ORHS is a non-profit organization in Greensboro fully dedicated to improving the lives of animals in the community. The organization finds loving and permanent homes for cats and dogs within its care.

“We rescue animals scheduled for euthanasia from local animal control facilities and from other homeless situations, and provide a safe place for them,” said ORHS board member Stephanie Coleman.

ORHS volunteers and staff also work tirelessly to end any type of suffering a pet may have.

“We work to end animal overpopulation and disease through an aggressive spay/neuter program for the pets of low-income residents in our community,” Coleman said.

The Rest & Rescue Raffle is not only a way to raise money for the organization, but it is also a chance to give back to the community that has given so much of time to the care of area rescued animals. The winner will receive a one-week condo rental for March 20 through Apr. 6. Also included as a prize is boarding for one week for one pet at Park Place Animal Hospital.

Park Place Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary medical facility in Greensboro where pets will receive the best medical, surgical and dental care.

To purchase raffle tickets visit www.orhspets.org or purchase them at the ORHS Adoption Center and Park Place Animal Hospital. The cost is $10 per ticket or three tickets for $25. The deadline to purchase tickets is Feb. 13. The winner will be announced on Valentine's Day.

“Enter now and enter as often as you'd like. It will only increase your chances of sinking your toes in cold white sand,” said Coleman.
