Mark your calendar today! Plan to attend another Get R.E.A.L (Rock Eagle Adult Learning) session scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11. Explore Rock Eagle Lake by canoe!! See if you can sneak up on our local great blue heron or if you can catch a glimpse of the turtles basking on a log. Canoeing instruction and personal floatation devices (PFD) are provided. The session will be adult geared and begin at 10 a.m. at Rock Eagle 4-H Center’s Natural History Museum. Light snacks as well as time to enjoy the museum are included. Lake Country Children’s Chorale, a children’s singing group, is being formed for children in second through fifth grades and is open to all children. Auditions for the 25-member chorus are scheduled at 5 p.m. on Sept. 18 and Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. at Redeemer Episcopal Academy, 680 Old Phoenix Rd. in Eatonton. Audition pieces will be provided at the time of the audition. A letter of recommendation from a school or church teacher or community leader is required. Practices are held Thursdays. The Community Organization Resource Center will continue its Brown Bag Lunch Seminar Series Tuesday, Sept. 30 with a session on grants for individuals from noon to 1 p.m. at the CORC.
