Movie-goers now have a new nearby location to catch the latest flicks.

Parkside Main 8, located at 1050 Parkside Main in Greensboro, offers customers two different levels of movie-going perks, with the top level hosting a VIP, club-like atmosphere where customers have access to a full-bar and dining menu that can be enjoyed while watching a movie.

The all-digital, eight-screen theater officially opened its doors for business Dec. 19, offering a plethora of unique features that are sure to enhance the movie-watching experience.

“We’re an all-digital cinema. We have no film whatsoever in the theater,” said General Manager Dan Chun. “We also have state of the animated art poster boards.”

Upon entering the theater, customers purchase tickets and food at a one-stop ticket and dining counter.

“We have a full kitchen with a full restaurant menu both upstairs and down. We have pizza, we have hamburgers,” said Chun. “We have chicken sandwiches, popcorn shrimp, jalapeno poppers, cheese sticks, salads with grilled chicken, French fries and onion rings.”

“And you can take everything into the theater,” he added.

“You can easily come here and have literally dinner and a movie,” he said. “It’s not going to be a five-star four-course meal. It’s not the Ritz-Carlton level of food, but it’s really good fun food.”

To gain access to the special section upstairs, customers can join the ‘Concierge Club’ for an annual fee, or simply buy a $10 daily pass for a splurge, said Chun.

“Knowing that we’re near the Ritz-Carlton we wanted to have a theater that would fit into that realm,” said Chun. “It is a wonderful theater, even downstairs. It’s nothing to sneeze at downstairs, but upstairs is even nicer.”

Plans for special events at the theater are in the works as well, said Chun.

“With digital projection, we are able to project home videos and even video games,” said Chun. “We’re just getting open now and we’ve got a lot of things to tweak, but we plan to eventually show college football games on the screens and we’ll have video game tournaments too.”
