The Lake Oconee Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will host its Las Vegas Night fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. at the A.P. Henderson Banquet Hall in Social Circle.

Las Vegas Night is a fundraiser that the sorority hosts to support their scholarship fund and Delta Academy. Last year, Lake Oconee Area Alumnae Chapter gave $3,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors in Greene, Morgan and Taliaferro counties.

The Delta Academy is a mentoring group for girls ages 11 to 14 that members of the sorority have been working with one Saturday each month to help young women develop into the new leaders of the 21st century.

Tickets are $30 and are tax deductible. In supporting this worthy cause, you can enjoy food, cash bar, play money for the gaming tables, music, dancing and a silent auction. A new attraction this year is Michigan Gold Recycling, a certified vendor, will be on hand for you to bring your old or unused gold and get real cash on the spot.
