Hayes, Ward named Rotary Student and Teacher of the Month

Nathanael Greene Academy senior Rebecca Hayes, daughter of Billy Joe and Dana Hayes, was recently honored as Rotary Student of the Month.
Hayes’ academic and extracurricular accomplishments include being a member of the honor roll, Beta Club and serving as the yearbook photo editor. Additionally she participates in cheerleading and softball. Upon graduation, she plans to attend medical school.
Tommi Ward was honored as Rotary Teacher of the Month. Ward is a graduate of North Georgia College and State University and has a master’s in English. She has taught 34 years of which 32 have been at Nathanael Greene and teaches English and French. Additionally she serves as senior sponsor, homecoming sponsor and travel coordinator. Her community service includes church work and helping students achieve their community work.
Rotarian Alex Falanga presented certificates to both Hayes and Ward, which acknowledged their selection as Rotary Club Student and Teacher of the Month.
Additionally Falanga stated: “The Rotary Club Student and Teacher of the Month is one of the most significant programs our Rotary Club has. This recognition provides an opportunity for the Rotary Club to acknowledge the best students in our community and a chance to meet our future leaders.”
