Three exceptional young women who are part of the Greene County Habitat family graduated from Greene County High School in May.

Laquan Boddie, Camera Grimes and Qenteller Mattox have completed the Education Plans that were specifically designed for each of them by volunteer Dave Thillen. All three have maintained grade point averages that will qualify them for HOPE Scholarships. They are setting an excellent example for the 44 younger children who live in Habitat’s 21 homes in Greene County.

Boddie (3.7 GPA) has been accepted to Albany State University where she will major in business accounting. She is a member of the Beta Club and the UGA Leadership Class. She has completed a number of Advanced Placement and Honors classes and tutors other students in Spanish.

Grimes (3.2 GPA) plans to attend Middle Georgia College where she will pursue a degree in nursing. She has been active in the Health Occupation Students of America organization and has received awards in their competitions. She has volunteered at the Boswell Parker Nursing Home and will work this summer as a nursing assistant at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. For the past several years Camera has worked part-time at Subway.

Mattox (3.6 GPA) has her sights set on combining a military career with academics. She has joined the National Guard after being in ROTC for four years. She will soon begin six months of Basic Training then serve in the reserves while pursuing a college degree in criminal justice at Kennesaw State or Georgia Tech. She has participated in varsity sports, Beta Club, UGA Leadership Class and has done extensive volunteer work in the community.
