Mark the date for Saturday October 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Gary’s Garden Center for one of Lake Oconee’s finest events. Taste more than 50 different wines from around the world at Gary’s Garden Center on Oct. 24 at the wine tasting festival in the garden fundraiser benefitting St. Joseph’s Hospital. The Oconee Cellar and Gary’s Garden are offering a great opportunity for you to taste all kinds of wines at $20/ticket. Not only will there be lots of wine to taste, there will be some great food and live Jazz Music. You can find a couple of wines you may love and other wines you always wanted to try. The last sold out event was attended by over 250 people and $1,500 was raised for St. Joseph Hospital. The goal is to raise over $3,000 at this event so stop in at The Oconee Cellar next to Publix or at Garys to purchase your tickets. Last time the event sold out, so buy your tickets today and support St. Joseph Hospital and have fun at the same time! Tickets will be available at the door for $25 if available.

The Arts Development Council of Georgia (ADCG) will hold its General Membership/Open Board Meeting, Wednesday, October 7, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at The Plaza Arts Center (PAC), 305 N. Madison Avenue, Eatonton. Lydia Ivanditti, PAC Director, will host the meeting and give a presentation on their activities and history. The boards and members of the Eatonton Arts Alliance, Madison Artists Guild, Georgia Piedmont Arts Council, Greensboro Arts Alliance, OPAS and other organizations have been invited to attend and make short presentations on their group’s activites and goals. The successful ‘Two Minutes of Fame’ show-and-tell introduction exercise will be held again. Artists are asked to bring a representative piece of their art and be prepared to give a very brief, two minute, talk. The first 10 artists to register for their ‘Two Minutes of Fame’ will be called upon shortly after the Break. Any artist – visual, theater, musician, craft maker, dancer, singer, entertainer, culinary, arts advocate is welcomed.

Redeemer Episcopal Academy invites the community to its “Oktoberfest” at Cuscowilla from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Oct. 10. The event will feature live music by the Bavarian Express, authentic German fare and an array of fine German lagers and ales. Limited tickets are now available for $75.
