GSRA to host local legislators

The Lake Oconee Area Chapter of the Georgia State Retirees Association (GSRA) will host an information meeting for state retirees and area legislators on Nov. 12 at the Family Life Center of the Greensboro First United Methodist Church. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 6:00 p.m. Guest speaker will be Mr. Bill Tomlinson, state vice president of GSRA and GSRA’s Legislative Liaison.

Tomlinson will present an update of the condition of the State Employees Retirement System and recent actions by the ERS board and the legislature that impact retirees. He will share his insight on the current issues of retirement fund investments, health insurance, COLA’s, and funding of the plan. Many of the state Representatives and state Senators from Morgan, Putnam, Taliaferro, Hancock and Greene counties will attend.
