Exciting venders coming to Meadowcrest Arts and Crafts Market

Woolen sweaters, delightful aprons, crocheted afghans, jewelry and original art and all in one place. What more could you ask? The long awaited 37th Meadowcrest Arts and Craft Market is here.

Colleen Smith, chairman of the 2009 Market, reports “There are lots of new and exciting venders this year as well as the tried and true.”

Cesar Rojas, of Charlotte, N.C. will be a delightful addition with beautiful hand knit sweaters and ponchos. In addition he creates unique musical instruments of bamboo.

And Joseph Adehakin will be back with his wonderful sea grass baskets. These are a gift anyone would love.

The textile crafters continue with Jeana Arthur’s “Apron’s Devine.” Preparing a holiday dinner will be a snap in these cheerful creations. Gertrude Gillis and Patricia Greene will provide doll clothes, afghans, shawls, doll clothes and much more. For those with a love of jewelry, the always popular Sassy Cat will be returning. Several new artist will be there to include Brick’s Jewels of Commerce. To give your home the wonderful aroma of the holiday season try candles from the Joy of Soy, Just Wicks, Capt. Mike’s Candles and Soaps or Innovative Ideas.

For those interested in original art or prints for the wall, will have several choices. Jon Haber and Jackie Holmes of Conyers will be returning after several years absence. This very talented couple will have a wide selection prints and original art, to include scenes from around the area. Holmes is well -known for her paintings of the Cherokee Rose, the Georgia State Flower. Ronald Moore of Hartwell will return with pastel paintings and prints. In addition to her jewelry, Bricklyn Riles will showcase pencil drawings and watercolors.

The very special quilts created by the Meadowcrest Ladies, who began this market 36 years ago, are always a favorite. This year is no exception. Make sure that you purchase a chance on this wonderful handcrafted quilt. To try your luck a little more, Pilot Club will be selling chances on a 50-50 drawing. Fifty percent of the money raised will be given back in prizes, 25 percent, 15 percent and 10 percent. You need not be present to win. So get your ticket from a Pilot Club member or buy some at Meadowcrest. The more we sell, the more you win.
