The 12th annual Pleasures of the Palette will be held on Monday, Dec. 7 at the Plantation Clubhouse at Reynolds Plantation at 1091Clubhouse Dr off of Pine Grove Road (just inside of Reynolds Plantation, Pine Grove is the first right turn after passing through the gate). Pleasures of the Palette is a local fine art show sponsored by Reynolds Plantation. Local artists present original fine art available for purchase or simply for the enjoyment of those in attendance. The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. and is open to the public. Complementary wine and hors d’ oeuvres is included. Anyone who wishes to attend should please call the Member Concierge at (706) 467-1111 (members and non-members). The cost of the event is $18 plus tax and gratuity prior to and on Nov. 30; the price will increase to $21 plus tax and gratuity after Nov. 30.
Lace up your sneakers for the 24th annual Sleighbell 5K Walk/Run hosted by the East Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross on Saturday, Dec. 5. It will be held at the Pavilion at Pittard Park in Winterville. Day of race registration begins at 7:30 a.m and the race will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. The race will be part of Run and See Georgia and conducted with Classic Race Services. The pre-registration entry fee is $15 with a long sleeve race T-shirt and $10 without a T-shirt. The pre-registration entry fee for a family of three or more is $45. The day of the race, registration will cost $20 with a T-shirt while supplies last and $15 without a T-shirt. Happy Valley Pottery awards will be given to the first three males and females in age groups in five year increments beginning with 15 to 20 years old through 70 and up. In the 11-14 years old and 10 and under age groups will receive trophies. Overall male and female winners will receive special pottery. Two plaques will be made to recognize the family with the most participants and the group with the most participants and will be placed in the East Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross. Funds raised will be used to aid in disaster preparedness and relief, emergency services for military personnel and their families, and health and safety education.
Lake Oconee Landscape Association has formed to promote professionalism in the green industry, in the lake country. All members of LOLA are required to be licensed, insured and reputable. LOLA members provides services such as; landscape installation, maintenance, lawn and shrub fertilization, weed control, garden centers, all your outdoor needs. LOLA is a non-profit organization to assist consumers in Greene, Putnam, Morgan and Baldwin counties to select Quality landscape professionals.

The Greene County Toastmasters Club invites everyone who wishes to improve their public speaking ability and increase their confidence to join them. The Club meets on the First and Third Tuesday every month at the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greensboro (next to the post Office). The meeting starts promptly at 6 p.m.

(Mothers of Preschoolers Support), serving Morgan, Greene, Putnam and Hancock counties, meets every 3rd Tuesday (August-May) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lake Oconee Lutheran Church. Childcare provided. Casual brunch, fellowship and informative meeting. Non-denominational, Christian-based.
The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition – Georgia Chapter will host “Hearts of Teal” the last Tuesday of each month. Survivors of all gynecologic cancers are warmly invited to join us. Survivors, both new and long-term, will find understanding, care, and even laughter to enrich your journey. Family and friends are welcomed to attend with survivors.
