First United Methodist Church of Greensboro will present its musical Christmas gift to the Greene County community at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at the new South Campus location on Carey Station Road and at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13 at North Campus in Downtown Greensboro. “A Festival of Carols” will include the First United Methodist Chancel Choir with soloists, Cinda Walker, Jana Roper, Harvey Phlegar and Jim Beard, the “Praise Ringers” handbell choir, pianists Dawn Ruppelt and Lindsay Lipscomb, along with guest instrumentalists. The program will be composed of Christmas carols new and old, along with scripture readings to tell the timeless story of Jesus’ birth. Put LaBarre, Minister of Music, will direct the program.

Admission to this joyful service of song is free. The community is cordially invited.

Lake Oconee Lutheran Church presents a musical program titled “The Musical Mastery of Christmas” on Saturday, Dec. 12 beginning at 7 p.m. The concert is free and the public is invited to attend. Come and experience the blending of choral voices, orchestral instrumentation, and candlelight in the churches’ annual Christmas concert. The evening will feature the Lake Oconee Lutheran Choir, members of Georgia College and State University orchestra, as well as vocalists from other churches in this area. The concert is arranged and directed by Brad Rudisail, Music Director, who will also provide piano music. Refreshments will be provided after the concert, and a free-will offering will be received to benefit area food banks. Lake Oconee Lutheran Church is located at 1089 Lake Oconee Parkway, directly behind the Harmony Association Building.

“A Night in Bethlehem” will be presented Friday, Dec. 11 at Crossroads Baptist Church in Eatonton, starting at 6:30 with the first tour and ending at 8:30 for the last tour. Bring your family to explore the busy Market Place, hear the music and the buzz of a bustling village. Smell the aroma from the bake shop or taste the sweets from the candy shop. You will experience and better understand what life was like when Jesus was born.

Join in the singing of favorite Christmas hymns and carols at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church. What precious memories of gathering with friends and family to sing favorite carols during the Christmas season! Continue that tradition this year at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. Come combine your voice with ours for a special time of worship and celebration by singing favorite hymns and carols together. Refreshments including home made cookies, coffee and punch will be served following the caroling. Harvest Baptist Church in Eatonton is presenting a live drive-through Nativity on December the 11, 12 and 13. This “Old Fashioned” Christmas celebration will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each evening. The event will feature 10 biblical scenes with live animals and costumed actors.
