A nonprofit organization, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is active throughout the Lake Oconee Area in five counties (Morgan, Jasper, Putnam, Greene and Taliaffero) and 14 public and private schools, providing faith-based programs for student athletes and their coaches.

Monday, Feb. 8, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host its annual fundraising banquet at Grace Fellowship Church in Greensboro. The fundraising event will include dinner, speakers and both a live and silent auction. The banquet is the primary means of supporting the Lake Oconee FCA ministry.

Tickets are required and can be reserved through table hosts and the FCA office. If you are interested in partnering with FCA as a table host, banquet sponsor or banquet attendee, call the FCA office at (706) 999-9925.

David Greene, former quarterback for the University of Georgia (2001-2004), will be the featured speaker and will promote a cause that means a lot to him.

Greene’s highlights include guiding the team to a Sugar Bowl victory in 2002. The same season he led the Bulldogs to the SEC championship. He was named SEC Offensive Rookie of the Year after the 2001 season and was the 2002 Offensive Player of the Year for The Southeastern Conference. In 2004, Greene made 214 consecutive pass attempts without an interception.

Greene has also been a member of the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts. He retired following the 2008 season.

Greene currently lives in Grayson where he lives with his wife Veronica and son Jordan.
