Hit the town New Orleans’ style on Saturday, March 13, 2010, when the American Cancer Society hosts its inaugural Boulé on Lake Oconee, at Cuscowilla.

“Join us lakeside as we transform Cuscowilla’s Waterside Restaurant into ‘The Big Easy’ for a night of live entertainment, dinner and dancing,” said Lacie Smith, ACS community manager for Greene, Morgan and Putnam counties.

Live music from “The Big Daddy’s Band” will fill the air and patrons can dance, play games, enjoy an array of silent auction items and indulge in Cajun inspired cuisine. Dress is “High Casual,” and doors open at the Waterside at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the American Cancer Society, which works within the local community to educate and support people who have been touched by cancer.

As patrons come together to party for a cause, the American Cancer Society will continue to save lives by helping people get well, stay well, find cures and fight back against a disease that has taken too many lives.

“The many volunteers who have been working tirelessly the past few months to put this event on for the community have done a fantastic job and have no idea what a difference they are making in the lives of those facing cancer,” Smith said.

Boule’s planning committee is lead by local volunteers who have a passion for helping those in need. Tammy Smith, Marynell Culpepper, Lyn Adams, Linda Lindsey and Kay Moore have spearheaded this project and are busy rallying volunteers, silent auction items and sponsors from the community to support this inaugural event. Anyone interested in supporting this event should call Smith at (706) 454-1788.

All inclusive tickets are on sale now, and only a limited number will be sold. For $75 patrons will enjoy a buffet style dinner, drinks, including beer and wine, and the opportunity to support our community’s fight against cancer. All ticket proceeds benefit your local American Cancer Society.

You may purchase tickets from the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, Cuscowilla’s Welcome Center or by calling event chairman Smith at (706) 454-1788.
