For those looking for a special way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, a bevy of options awaits the romantically inclined in Lake Country this year.

Romantic specials, from the economical to a bit more extravagant, are being offered at locations throughout the area this week.

Here’s a brief look at what’s going on for Valentine’s Day this year:

For starters, be sure to check out Amici’s special. For $50, the restaurant is offering a couple’s package that comes with your choice of one appetizer or two side salads, two pastas or one 14-inch pizza, a special dessert and two movie tickets. The special is available Feb. 12 through Feb. 14.

If you’re looking for an indulgent way to celebrate the holiday, the Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation is hosting “Chocolate, Corks and Cognac” from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12.

The event features an everlasting chocolate fountain and other decadent confections as part of a chocolate dessert buffet and a specialty menu of wines, ports and cognacs.

Gaby’s by the Lake is offering a special Valentine’s “All Aphrodisiac Menu” with items such as Oysters on the Half Shell and grilled New York Strip Steak with Lobster Mashed potatoes.

Additionally, a la carte dark chocolate and milk chocolate tortes will be on hand for those with a sweet tooth. This special menu is offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. in addition to the usual dinner menu.

For those with a bit more money to spare, Georgia’s Bistro at The Lodge is offering a special “His and Hers” four-course dinner menu set in a romantic atmosphere with soft music and flickering candles.

The special menu includes items such as Riesling Poached Pears, grilled filet of beef and molten chocolate raspberry cake.

The cost is $70 per person and $120 per person with wine pairing, and reservations are suggested.
