Southland Jubilee returns

Southland Jubilee, Greensboro’s favorite spring event, returns to Lake Oconee’s Hometown. Now in its 12th consecutive year, Southland Jubilee has grown to be one of the regions most anticipated events. Featuring heritage arts and crafters, your favorite festival foods, activities for the kids, live entertainment, antique tractors, agricultural exhibits and a classic car show, Southland Jubilee promises a full day of activity for residents and visitors.
Crafters from across the southeast will show off their products on Main Street. Expect to see hand-woven baskets, one-of-a-kind pottery, photography, glassworks, original paintings, handmade soaps and candles, and homemade pickles, jellies and more.
The Children’s Area will be full of fun rides, exhibits and interactive games for kids of all ages. Wildlife and interpreters from the Rock Eagle Environmental Education program will also be on hand during the day to offer hands on interactions with some of Georgia’s native reptiles. There will also be heritage demonstrators showing how life was “back in the day” with blacksmithing, weaving and more.
Joey Pierce will be back with his Native American displays and music, and don’t forget to go by to look at the Tractor Show and this year’s Car Show.
Danny Roland will be in charge of the Main Stage where acts like the Kenny Cook Band, Hugh Vaughan, and Angela Deering and others will keep you rocking all day long.
The classic cars will be back on South Main Street. There will be hot rods, antiques, and more.
And of course the friendly shops and restaurants of downtown Greensboro will be open and ready to offer the perfect lunch stop, Mother’s Day gift or antique.
Southland Jubilee is made possible by the generous financial support of the local business community. The Southland Jubilee steering committee would like to extend its deepest gratitude to each and every one of our 2010 sponsors.
