Hundreds turn out for Easter Sunrise Service

More than 300 people attended the 9th Annual Lake Oconee Easter Sunrise Service. Music was provided by the Reynolds Chorus under the direction of Donna Brelsford and accompanied by Amy Reber. David W. Key, Sr., “Chaplain of Lake Oconee” and the founding pastor of the Lake Oconee Community Church, brought the message. Beginning at 7 a.m., the weather was the warmest in 10 years.
On Easter Sunday, Lake Oconee Community Church. a multi-denominational church, began its season of “Worship on the Water,” a weekly 8:30 am service at the Reynolds Plantation Pointe Pavilion. Everyone inside and outside of Reynolds Plantation is invited to this unique outdoor, worship experience occurring every Sunday morning until mid-October. Special community services at the Pavilion include the July 4 Celebration of Freedom and October’s Blessing of the Animals. This is church as you know it can be.
