The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce and the Eatonton Kiwanis Club invite you to Celebrate Patriotism on Thursday, May 27 at The Plaza Arts Center on Madison Avenue.

Celebrate Patriotism is Eatonton’s annual program honoring our Veterans. Bring a chair, blanket and the whole family to The Plaza Arts Center for an enjoyable evening. Free hot dogs, chips, ice cream and drinks will be provided starting at 5 p.m. and the pre-Memorial Day program starts at 6 p.m. During dinner, a pictorial tribute will be playing in the auditorium to go along with the Memorial Wall.

The program includes music by the Army’s 434th Signal Corps Band and the Presentation of Colors by the Putnam County High School JROTC. This year, the evening includes a special program from the Town and Country Garden Club of Eatonton, dedicating the Blue Star Memorial Marker.

Kiwanis member Lynward Lindsey knew Celebrate Patriotism was something he wanted to get involved with.

“Although I am not a veteran, I have always considered myself to be patriotic. When I hear ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ and say ‘The Pledge of Allegiance’ over and over, I still get that ‘feel good all over’ feeling.  I’m proud to be part of Celebrate Patriotism in order to thank the many brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives in order to give us continued freedom.”
