Downtown Divas draws shoppers and crafters

Divas took to the streets of downtown Greensboro looking for shopping deals, original art and special dining treats.
Downtown shoppers began their trip to downtown by checking in at the Diva Concierge Desk for a warm welcome, a floppy pink hat, and a free diva feather boa to wear while they shopped. The Concierge Desk was hosted by Morning Glory’s on Main.
In addition to the great spring sales and specials at the shops of Greensboro, Divas strolled and shopped with special guest vendors scattered throughout town. The ladies gathered under striped umbrellas on the Court House lawn for Pampered Chef cooking demonstrations presented by Becky Grant throughout the afternoon. Jewelry Designer, Rita Knight displayed her handcrafted “Bohemian Chic” earrings and trinkets within the Greensboro Antique Mall. Helen Hall was in town with her creative Golf Ball charity. Divas could take advantage of a complimentary massage from therapist Vickie Goss under the tent in front of Atlas…and Divas kept Ms. Goss very busy. Janice Lam was under the tent in front of Genuine Georgia as she demonstrated her assortments of unique twisted wire jewelry. Mary Kay Consultant, Teresa Andrews shared cosmetic tips at Sisters 2 Sisters Boutique. Unkommon Scents & Natural Body Care assisted Divas as they created their own fragrances under the guidance of Alkalik and Lotoya Jenkins. Quality products included handcrafted shea butter, custom and designer body oils, natural soaps, shower gels and lotions. Mrs. Shirley Pinkston rounded out the selection of guest vendors with what’s new in Tupperware…the wrapper you never throw away. Her enthusiasm was as colorful as her array of products.
All in all it was a fun day in downtown Greensboro for ladies and their families! Downtown Divas is part of the Greensboro Saturdays series which features a downtown event the third Saturday of each month through October.
Next up is a Greensboro favorite – Café Saturday on June 19, the Saturday before Father’s Day. The event is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Greensboro will welcome a guest restaurant to the Court House lawn along with music, shopping, and plenty of excitement for the entire family. Join in the fun as we picnic on the courthouse lawn and play beach bingo with Dad.
