The weather couldn’t have been nicer for the Greene County Habitat for Humanity Lowe’s Women Build Day on Monday, April 12, and Tuesday, April 13.  The women volunteers of Greene County Habitat were anxious and excited to pitch in to help with the building of Robert and Brittany Poole’s home in the New Horizons of Ludwig Place subdivision in Greensboro.  All the ladies arrived at the build site with their hammers, rulers and eagerness to start the day.  Each morning opened with prayer and then the ladies awaited their job assignments.  The main work focus for Monday and Tuesday’s build days was preparing the material and laying the top layer of the sub-flooring.  Delicious sandwiches were served for lunch on both days and enjoyed by all the volunteers.  Lunches were provided by Lakeside Church and First United Methodist Church Union Point.  Robert and Brittany Poole’s home is nearing completion, and thanks to the dedication and hard work of all the Greene County Habitat for Humanity volunteers, especially to all the ladies who graciously volunteered their time and talent, the Lowe’s Women Build Days were a great success.  The next Lowe’s Women Build Day is scheduled during National Women Build Week and will be held on Saturday May 1.  Greene County Habitat would also like to give a big thanks to Lowe’s for their support and sponsorship on the Women Build project here in Greene County and throughout the United States.

Greene County Habitat for Humanity is a nondenominational Christian Ministry working in partnership with the community and future homeowners to provide decent, affordable, and safe housing for those in need.  The organization believes that not only is family strength supported and improved by the quality of living conditions, but the community benefits as well.  For additional information about Habitat contact Elaine Mathews at (706) 453-1718 or volunteer@gchabitat.com.
