The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce welcomed Kusillo Gallery as a new Chamber member with a plaque presentation on Sept. 10. Kusillo Gallery offers very unique gifts that are handmade and imported from Bolivia including art, sculptures, linens, clothing, jewelry and decorative items. The gallery also offers an extensive custom printing and framing section where photos are restored, resized or enhanced. Printed or digital pictures can be customized by changing colors; adding or deleting backgrounds, objects or people; and printing the images on either canvas or paper as defined by the customer. Once complete, the piece is custom framed on site from the large selection of mats, moldings and glass. Museum wrapped canvas selections are also available.
Kusillo Gallery opened in the fall of 2008. The gallery is owned by a husband and wife team, Antonio Garcia who is from Bolivia and Brenda Sanborn, a native of Alabama. Brenda is a proud member of the Greene/Putnam County Rotary Club and Antonio is a firefighter at the Old Salem Fire Department. These groups are just examples of the many community organizations in which this pair has become involved with since relocating to the lake area. Their backgrounds are very different, but their love of people and the opportunity to serve is the same.
According to Sanborn, “we retired to Lake Oconee from living and working in New York City after visiting friends living here and falling in love with the natural beauty and calm of the area. We decided to open Kusillo Gallery so that we could share the culture, the color and the vibrant expression of art and crafts from Bolivia along with a select few Southern artists that include painters, photographers and designers of jewelry and pottery. We feel beauty of many different dimensions should be shared and this is simply our way of accomplishing that goal.”
Kusillo Gallery joined the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce for many reasons including “to meet more incredible people, to network with other highly motivated and creative individuals and to be part of a progressive organization that works to better the community as a whole. Antonio and I feel honored to have been accepted by the Chamber as members and hope to serve as a good example of business professionalism to others considering joining,” says Sanborn.
Kusillo gallery has recently changed its hours of operation and is now open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed on Sunday. Antonio and Brenda encourage customers to “just drop in and discuss with us what you need. From finding the perfect gift for hostess, holidays or special events to restoring and preserving your family heirlooms, there really is something for everyone.”
Kusillo Gallery is located at 1210 Commerce Drive, Greensboro, GA. between Classic Wines and Pounders. For more information, please call (706) 999-1714.
