The Lake Oconee Area Chapter of the Georgia State Retirees Association (GSRA) will host our fifth information meeting for state retirees and area legislators Nov. 4 at the Family Life Center of the Greensboro First United Methodist Church located at 202 W. Broad St. (US 278 1 block west of downtown) A social gathering and refreshments at 5:30 p.m. Presentation and Q & A at 6 p.m.                         

We are very fortunate to have as guest speaker Mr. Chuck Freedman, who began and spent the bulk of his career with the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget where he rose through the ranks to Division Director prior to his departure.  Chuck completed his state career with the Georgia Technology Authority GTA).  He initiated and directed GTA’s first asset management program.  Chuck currently serves as State Vice President of the GSRA.

Mr. Freedman will present an update on the condition of both the State Employees Retirement System and State Health Benefit Plan, as well as, other issues impacting Georgia’s state retirees.  All state retirees, their spouses, and those planning retirement having concerns about the status of their retirement and health benefit funds are encouraged to attend this important meeting.  Together, our voices will be heard.
