The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with A Kids World of Peace on Thursday, Sept. 30 celebrating the daycare’s move into the new facility on Oconee Street.  

The staff at A Kids World of Peace is committed to providing children and their families with the best quality care.  Childcare is offered in a loving, nurturing and safe environment where children feel at home and learning is made easy. A Kid’s World of Peace prioritizes your children’s development and ensures the delivering of appropriate lessons to enhance and stimulate your children’s development and growth. While some staff members are currently attending college to better serve the families, the staff is very knowledgeable of the development of young children through various certifications and degrees. Each staff member is CPR and First Aid Certified.  

Owner Shirlon Willis-Mathis originally opened A Kids World of Peace in June 2005 in the previous location on Jefferson Avenue.  On Sept. 3, A Kids World of Peace relocated to Oconee Street where Willis-Mathis recently built a brand new childcare facility.  The new location is conveniently located near the business district of Eatonton making it closer to many neighborhoods and much easier for parents to reach.

“Opening a daycare has been a desire that I’ve had since childhood.  I obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education to make this a successful business and to make sure all of the children that come to this center will be successful young leaders,” explains Willis-Mathis.  

A Kids World of Peace is open for childcare from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, year-round. Parents are welcome to stop by the center to find out about the services at anytime during the business hours. Later this fall, the center will offer workshops that would be very beneficial to our parents as well as many other special services.

“Being a part of the Chamber keeps me updated on what’s available to me as small business owner. I’m able to network with others and advertise my business. Through the Chamber, I was able to connect with Small Business Development Center (UGA) where there were a variety of workshops that have helped with the growth of my business,” explains Willis-Mathis.
