Anyone interested in singing and/or listening to patriotic melodies is invited to an evening Sing-Along, beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9 at Lake Oconee Lutheran Church. This Patriotic Night of Song is scheduled to coincide with the week in which Veterans’ Day is observed by our nation, and to give tribute to the many individuals who have served our country.
This Sing-Along will be led by Charlie Helms, member of LOLC, who has been leading gospel sing-alongs at the church, plus monthly sing-alongs at a dozen different county senior centers and retirement homes. He will accompany the singing with his guitar music.
You can expect to hear some long time favorite tunes which have been popular for their patriotic and historic content. Songs with lyrics celebrating our national pride will include
“America the Beautiful,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” and many more.
The public is encouraged to attend this session of music which is planned to remind us of our nation’s heritage and to praise the Lord for our nation’s many blessings. Bring your family, neighbors, and friends for a free musical evening of patriotic tribute.
