On Wednesday, October 27th, the Right Reverend J. Neil Alexander, Bishop of Atlanta, joined the people of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer for the celebration of a new ministry, installing the Reverend Joseph D. Greene III as the rector of Redeemer. Fr. Greene, along with his wife Ashley and son J.D., arrived in Greensboro in May to assume the responsibilities of priest at the church.
The celebration was a wonderful, faith-filled time for the congregation of the church, making official their calling of Fr. Greene to lead them pastorally. A reception followed at the home of Mrs. Carolyn Reynolds Parker, where Parker and her team of church women from Redeemer hosted the Bishop, Fr. Greene and his family, and the parish. The food and hospitality were delightful, despite the rain, and the assembled faithful were entertained by the piano stylings of Mr. John Cawthon, a parishioner at Redeemer. The Church of the Redeemer is located at 303 N. Main Street in downtown Greensboro. Sunday Services are at 8:30 and 10:30, with a Wednesday service at 10:30.
