A special evening of Christmas music and stories will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9 at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church. The tradition of “Lessons and Carols” dates back to 19th Century England and has been practiced by Christian churches ever since. The Christmas Eve Celebration Service will include scripture readings, the Celebration Choir, Handbell Choir, guest instrumentalists, and of course, favorite Christmas Carols that focus on Christ and His birth. No tickets are necessary. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and a dessert reception will follow. Child care will be provided. Please join us! Lake Oconee Lutheran Church, located at 1089 Lake Oconee Parkway, will hold a Contemporary Old-Fashioned Christmas Music Evening Concert Thursday evening, Dec. 16 beginning at 7 p.m. The concert will feature the Lake Oconee Lutheran Choir, musicians from Georgia College, direction and piano music of Brad Rudisail and an audience sing-along to contemporary Christmas Classics. Refreshments will be served by the LOLC congregation following the concert, and a free-will offering will benefit the food banks of Greene, Morgan, and Putnam Counties.

Remember the true meaning of Christmas by attending a special Christmas Eve service at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church. The program will begin at 6 p.m. and will feature traditional Christmas carols and the Christmas story. Lake Oconee Community Church will hold their annual Community Christmas Eve Service at 9 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom at the Ritz Carlton at Reynolds Plantation. Guest musicians include Rachel Sterrenberg, Soprano and Rylan James Smith, Classical Guitar. Everyone is welcome to join us on this special night.
