Christmas means picking out the perfect live tree

The Christmas season is in full swing, which means it is time to purchase your fresh-cut Christmas tree. There is still a great supply of beautiful and fragrant trees available.
One of the best and longest lasting trees is the Fraser Fir because they hold their needles throughout the holiday season while providing a wonderful fragrance. Be sure to make a fresh cut at the bottom of the tree trunk, this allows the tree to pull water up into the tree to keep it fresh. You can have the Christmas tree supplier make this cut when you purchase the tree. It may be helpful to have them remove a few of the lowest branches so that the tree will fit into the stand. You can use those branches to make centerpieces or other types of holiday arrangements. As soon as you get the tree home put it into the stand and add water before the sap has time to reseal the cut area.
Evergreen roping is available to use on mantels, doorways and stairs. It is also great for outdoor areas such as lampposts, mailboxes, fences, and porch railings. It can be cut to any length and is available in mixed evergreen and Noble Fir varieties. Both of these are great to use because they will last throughout the holiday season.
Wreaths are a nice addition to any area of your home. You may choose from fresh evergreen or artificial styles. Some have pinecones and red berries added to them. A red bow makes a great finishing touch on any style wreath. They also look great on mailboxes, light posts, doors, stair rails and entryways.
These are just a few of the many great ways you can dress up your home for the holidays. Come in soon to get some fresh ideas for you holiday decorating this season.
