A local resident, Rene’ Chapman, enjoys dabbling in arts and crafts in her spare time. Her specialty is making elephant ear birdbaths and Christmas wreaths. This year she decided to make Christmas wreaths and sell them at the Trash To Treasurers event held on Nov. 6. Wanting to share her holiday spirit, Rene’ decided to give part of the proceeds from the sale to the Oconee Regional Humane Society.
Asked why she chose ORHS, Rene’ explained that she had always been around animals and is a big supporter of what ORHS does — saving animals, finding good homes for those that need a loving environment and promoting pets being spayed/neutered.
Shown with some of Rene’s wreaths are Jackie Stolarski (holding Autumn), Marguerite McInteer, Bonnie Stewart all from ORHS, Laura Schwager, a friend of Rene, and Rene’ Chapman (holding Maggie).
Everyone at Oconee Regional Humane Society is very appreciative of Rene’s generosity. It is with generous gifts like this that helps ORHS in their work of rescuing cats and dogs.
