St. Joseph’s East gives back for holidays

As part of Saint Joseph’s East Georgia’s first annual giving project, the Hospital observed the holidays by adopting two underprivileged families. Working with the SJEG Chaplain’s group and Pastor Avis Williams, the staff opted to forego an employee gift exchange and instead collected and donated an assortment of toys and clothes to fill the gift requests of the families.

In total, the staff provided two large boxes of presents for seven individuals and Pastor Williams delivered them just in time for Christmas.

“The holidays offer a wonderful opportunity to lend a hand to those less fortunate.  If we were even a small part of making those families’ holidays a little brighter then this project was a great success,” says Jeanette Filpi, Saint Joseph’s East Director of Hospital Operations. “We are look forward to adopting more families for the holidays in 2011.”
