Girl Scouts gear up for cookie sales

The Girl Scouts of Daisy Troop #20487, Brownie Troop #20488, and Junior Troop #20489 are getting ready to begin their first Girl Scout Cookie sale. The girls met on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Lakeside Church to learn more about selling cookies and to sample each type of cookie that will be offered this year. The Girl Scouts will learn to be young businesswomen as they interact with customers and handle sales and delivery of the cookies. They are excited about raising money to attend Girl Scout Camp this spring.
The proceeds from the cookie sale will benefit not only their local troops, but the Girl Scout Camps in the local area as well as the regional Girl Scout Council. The girls will be selling cookies door-to-door from Jan. 7-23, and will be offering booth sales in the area in late February and early March.
The cookies are priced at $3.50 per box, and the girls will be selling all of the old favorites this year: Samoas, Thin Mints, Do-Si-Dos, Trefoils, Lemon Chalet Cremes, and Tagalongs. If you live in Greene County or the surrounding area and you don’t have a Girl Scout in your neighborhood, send an e-mail to girlscoutcookies30642@gmail.com, and a Daisy, Brownie, or Junior young entrepreneur will contact you.
