Goodwill to hold additional class on banquet training

On Friday, Jan. 28, Goodwill’s Job Connection Center will offer a second class on SafeStaff and Banquet Training. The four hour class is taught by Goodwill’s licensed Culinary School professionals Steve Sitnick, Dean of Hospitality Education and Katina Hamlin, Catering and Convention Sales Manager. Participants are taught the specifics of banquet serving and the Safe Staff training curriculum.  The class participants are   introduced to handling service ware, setting the meal station, and serving the guests in a timely manner with proficient service. Each participant receives a Safe Staff Certification through the National Restaurant Association that will be valid for three years.  The cost of the class is $25 and scholarships are available.

The training and certificate program prepares individuals to work at the many fine dining establishments throughout Georgia’s Lake Country. The class is sponsored by Goodwill Staffing Services who works closely with area employers to provide qualified temporary and temp-to-permanent personnel.
