Hit the Town ‘New Orleans Style’ and support local American Cancer Society efforts at the second annual Boulé on Lake Oconee Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Waterside Restaurant at Cuscowilla Golf Resort. This Cajun themed ball is one of the most unique events in the area.

The party begins as soon as you walk through the doors and discover that New Orleans has been brought to Lake Oconee. Lavish décor will adorn the already stunning venue as live music from “The Big Daddy’s Band” fills the air.  Guests will enjoy an extraordinary buffet- style spread of Cajun inspired cuisine including jambalaya, barbecued shrimp with stone ground grits, chicken etouffee, cornmeal fried catfish and more your favorites from the bayou!

Along with dinner, drinks and dancing, games like the wine toss, Blackjack and the only “Pou Pou Poulet” the Lake Country has ever seen will keep the feeling of the “Big Easy” going all night long.

A silent auction will be ongoing throughout the evening, featuring a variety of items that have been donated from all over the area including local artists, doctors’ offices, furniture stores, spas, salons and golf resorts. There will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit your local American Cancer Society to educate and support people who have been touched by cancer, and will bring services and programs like Reach to Recovery and Look Good, Feel Better to the Lake area.

All inclusive tickets are still available for purchase, but only a limited number are remaining. For $75 patrons can enjoy a buffet style dinner, drinks including beer and wine and the opportunity to support our community’s fight against cancer, all ticket proceeds benefit your local American Cancer Society. Dress is ‘High Casual,’ meaning dress to impress but you can leave your black tie at home.

“We are delighted and honored to announce EYELEVEL INTERACTIVE™ a MADE Global Brands company as our presenting sponsor for this year’s Boulé,” said Tammy Smith, Boulé on Lake Oconee Event Chair. “We are so fortunate to have their support, along with so many other businesses in the community in this fight against cancer.”

The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than 3 million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. As the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing more than $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year.
