Crossroads Baptist Church of Eatonton, 106 S. Wesley Chapel Road, Eatonton, Georgia will host their monthly Community Ladies Prayer Meeting on Saturday, March 5 at 9 a.m.
Come, bring a friend, and Worship with us through prayer. Breakfast will be served. Childcare provided for those 6 years-old and under.

March 8
A sing-along will be held at 7 p.m. March 8 at Lake Oconee Lutheran Church to raise fun and funds for church youth.
A list of fun, familiar, favorite tunes will be led by guitarist and member Charlie Helms, leader of many area sing-alongs at senior centers and retirement homes. The list of songs on the program is sure to please any age of music-lover.
An offering will be taken at the sing-along from to help defray costs of sending several youth members at LOLC to the District Youth Conference in Daytona Beach, Florida in March.
All are invited to come and sing, listen and help support the church’s youth members. This musical night should be a rollicking good time for singers, listeners, and anyone who wants to participate.

Community Fat Tuesday Ash Wednesday events — A Week of Equilibrium
All are invited to a Community Fat Tuesday Chili Cook-off, Tuesday, March 8 at the Lake Welcome Center. Mardi-gras dress is welcome. Judges Chip Linus (Doc 103.9), Lydia Ivanditti (The Plaza Arts Center) and Cindy Lutini (Pasta for Life) will award prizes for Best Overall Taste, Popular Vote, Presentation, Closest to Heaven, Closest to Hell, and Best Cornbread. The community will then gather Wednesday, March 9, 6 p.m. at the Lake Welcome Center for an Ash Wednesday service of Music and Mediation. Gospel Style settings of the Psalms will be sung as we bask in the presence of God that lives in the dust and ashes of our humanity – out of which springs new life.

Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church is sponsoring a garage sale on March 11 and March 12. The proceeds will benefit the Council of Catholic Women and help with furnishings of the new Parish Life Center currently under construction.
Many items will be offered for sale- small furniture, children’s clothing and toys, kitchenware, sporting goods and other household goods. A table of home baked goodies will also be available for sale.
The church is located at 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, across the street from Publix. Hours for the sale are Friday, March 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday, March 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Put on your shopping shoes and come visit us! For further information contact M. Community Wide Prayer Meeting
A community wide prayer meeting will be held on March 15, 2011 at 7 p.m.at the Bethesda Baptist Church, in Union Point, Ga. Pastor Bruce Lovin and his members invite everyone to attend. If you are interested in uniting to support our community, the governments, schools, churches and various ministries in prayer, join us for this endeavor. Please invite your neighbors and friends to attend with you.

LOPC holds annual Men’s Wild Game Banquet
Mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 22 to attend this year’s Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church Men’s Wild (and not so wild) Game Banquet. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.
In addition to delicious food, the speaker for the banquet will be Bruce Lovin, Greensboro High School coach. Coach Lovin has been with the Greene County school system for nearly 23 years. Also, he is an ordained pastor and is serving as the current Interim Pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point. He is in his 18th year as a huddle coach for the Greene County Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
This year’s menu will include the following wild game entrees:
Cajun style deep-fried venison, pheasant salad, venison chili, and smothered quail. To top off the meal, there will be banana pudding for dessert.
