The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties is pleased to announce the Students-of-the-Month for January, 2011. Once again, the students are accomplished both academically as well as in their extra-curricular activities.

After high school, she plans to attend Augusta State University and major in Nursing. Hunt chose Ava Weaver as her Teacher-of-the-Month. Weaver stated that she liked teaching Lucretia because “her determination and commitment are the reasons she is doing so well.”
Nathanael Greene Academy teachers chose Mary JoAnna Chapman as the Rotary Student-of-the-Month for January 2011. She is the daughter of Robbie and Mary Jim Chapman. Chapman is on the basketball, softball, track and softball teams. She, too, gives back to her community through the Operation Christmas Child Empty Stocking Fund, food drives, Relay for Lift, and Arthritis Foundation. Each student received a framed certificate as well as movie passes compliments of Spotlight Theatres. At the end of the school year, all of the students recognized as Students-of-the-Month will be eligible for a $500 scholarship from the Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties.
