Dr. Jim Choomack has been the pastor at both Greensboro First Presbyterian Church and Union Point First Presbyterian Church for the last four years. He was recently named full-time pastor for the Greensboro First Presbyterian Church. His “old” job had him splitting Sundays
between the two churches.
The congregation of the
Greensboro First Presbyterian Church is excited about the change and looks forward to Dr. Choomack’s preaching in Greensboro each Sunday. Presbyterians have worshiped in Greensboro since the early 1820s.
The current building on Main Street in Greensboro was erected in 1859; was a hospital during the Civil War and burned in 1869 and rebuilt in the 1870s. Recently the Church Restoration Committee put a new roof on the church, reworked the outside shutters and remodeled the Narthex. The next project will involve repainting the sanctuary.
Worship services are each Sunday at 11 a.m.
