Better Hometown Greensboro is pleased to announce two new fun activities to be found in the children’s area at Southland Jubilee on April 16.
Stan Talifero, head coach of the UGA table tennis team and previously trained at the United States Olympic Training Center in 2001 and 2003, will give free table tennis demonstrations during the festival
“I would like to establish an interest in table tennis in Greene County,” Talifero said. “I made the two tennis tables used in the Green County recreation center and hope to start a table tennis program at the center.”
While children line up to get a shot at table tennis, others will have a chance to get a snapshot of themselves at the Associated Photographers of Lake Oconee’s photo booth.
The club is excited to share their photography skills at Southland Jubilee as they will offer free pictures of children ages 12 and younger.
“We will set up a portable photo studio, take portraits of children, load the digital pictures on a CD and give it to the parents,” said Rick Spors, treasurer of the Associated Photographers of Lake Oconee. “Parents will be able to economically print however many copies and sizes they want at any of the local photography facilities.”
As always, parents and children can expect the classic festival moonwalk, rock climbing wall, trackless train ride and face painting among other favorites.
