The annual Celebrate Patriotism program is scheduled for Thursday, May 26 at 5 p.m. at The Plaza Arts Center on Madison Avenue.
Veterans are from all facets of Putnam County life; their common bond is their contribution to the preservation of a way of life enjoyed by no other nation in the world. A
ll gave some and some gave all. Not all veterans came home and will not have the joy of participating in such a program in their honor.
Please, don’t let them be forgotten. Come early to view our Memorial Wall and remembrance slideshow.
This year’s Celebrate Patriotism event will be dedicated to Mrs. Johnnie Young Penn, one of the founders of the event. There will be a tribute to Penn during the program.
Bring the whole family for an enjoyable evening honoring veterans and those who gave their lives. This community program promises to be as exciting as ever.
The 434th Signal Corps band will provide the musical portion of the program and Putnam County High School’s JROTC will present the colors within The Plaza Arts Center’s theater.
Once again, hot dogs, chips, ice cream and soft drinks will be provided to all.
Anyone who has any pictures they would like to be included on the Memorial and Remembrance Wall is asked to please drop them off at The Eatonton Putnam Chamber of Commerce.
With each picture we request that you include the name of the individual, branch of military they served along with the years they served. For more information on this year’s Celebrate Patriotism event please call the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce at (706) 485-7701.
