As the storms moved through Wednesday night, many in the Greensboro area sought shelter at Saint Joseph’s East Georgia. Once the news announced that severe weather was headed this way and for residents to take cover, many felt the safest place to be would be at the hospital. Over 50 residents were welcomed with open arms, regardless if they were patients or families of patients. While waiting for the storms to pass, everyone gathered in the hallways and found comfort in knowing they were not alone. Saint Joseph’s took in the masses and provided them with blankets and snacks as they waited for the storms to clear.

Once the severe weather had moved through and the all clear was given for residents to return home, the hallways returned to the normal sounds of a hospital environment.

“We are always willing to help those in the community”, stated Mike Huff, President of Saint Joseph’s East Georgia. “Our blanket and snack sleepover went well and we will always be here for those in need.”
