The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center is proud to announce the ninth annual Madison Chamber Music Festival in historic Madison, GA.  From the opening concert June 4 through the festival finale July 15, the 2011 Festival will offer audiences the most diverse selection of performances by world-renowned musicians in its history, including: Susie Park, the prodigiously talented violinist from Eroica Trio; Brazilian jazz greats Luciana Souza, Romero Lubambo, and Cyro Baptista; David Coucheron, Concert Master, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra; Sharon Isbin, known as the “pre-eminent guitarist of our time”; Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, whose haunting composition Ashokan Farewell is known to millions as the theme song for the PBS series The Civil War; The Linden String Quartet, graduate quartet-in-residence at Yale School of Music and Grand Prize Winner, Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition; and R. Carlos Nakai, the world’s premier Native American flutist.

Since its start in 2002, the Festival has been under the artistic direction of Christopher Rex, principal cellist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and has flourished to national recognition.

Most concerts for the 2011 Festival will take place in the Center’s historic auditorium, which offers excellent acoustics and intimate seating, and all concerts include a reception with the performers.  Two concerts are scheduled away from the Center in unique Madison locations: Bonar Hall, a lovely private home; and Town 220, one of Madison’s most popular restaurants.
