Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church will host the monthly grief support group meeting and supper on Monday, July 10 at 6 p.m. at the Church.
The special speaker that evening will be Linda Kimbell who is a trained grief counselor with a MSW degree. Not only is she professionally trained in grief counseling, but Ms. Kimbell has experienced grief first hand as well through the loss of a spouse.
Mrs. Kimbell is returning at the request of those attending Presbyterian Church’s monthly support group.
The topic of her discussion on July 10 will be about how relationships with family and friends often change after the death of a spouse or other loved one. Sometimes relationships may deepen or become closer, but often relationships may become more strained. Often there is a feeling of more distance between individuals. Come listen, learn and ask questions.
The program will begin at 6 p.m. with a light supper and the program will follow around 7 p.m. Anyone in the community who is grieving the loss of a loved one is invited to attend. There is no charge to those attending as this is a ministry of Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church. LOPC is located at 113 Scott Road, near the Greene-Putnam county line just off Hwy. 44. For more information, please call LOPC at (706) 484-0600.
