Girl Scouts recruiting volunteers in Lake area
Published 8:00 am Wednesday, July 27, 2011
Do you remember the great times you had as a Girl Scout? Did you miss out on the opportunity to participate in a troop? Well it is never too late! Girl Scouts is getting ready to kick off another year and need your help. Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. And the program is all about GIRLS, but we need adult volunteers to deliver the program in a meaningful manner.
Everyone knows we need leaders for troops but we have so many other volunteer positions that need to be filled. Do you have Human Resource experience? We need a Service Unit Manager to recruit and manage our adult volunteers. Are you organized and detailed oriented? We need a registrar to receive troop registrations, ensure they are complete, forward the registrations to council and keep local membership records up to date. Do you have a financial background? Our Service Unit Cookie Manager is always crunching numbers.
Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, Inc. follows all equal opportunity practices and desires both a diverse membership and adult volunteer force. We want the girls to see themselves and their own potential in the adult volunteers with whom they come in contact. Prior Girl Scout experience is not a requirement. Each volunteer position has a written description that defines specific responsibilities and all necessary training will be provided. No matter how much time you have available or your particular talent, we can use your help.
The Putnam County Service Unit of Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, Inc., services all of Putnam County. Girls from kindergarten through high school are invited to participate. The Girl Scout program has continued to evolve ever since the first meeting held by Juliette Gordon Low, March 12, 1912 in Savannah Georgia. Next year Girl Scouts will celebrate 100 years highlighted with many special activities. Please consider joining us and sharing your knowledge and experience with this dynamic scout program.
