Local writer wins poetry award

Local poet, writer and member of the Greensboro Writers Guild, Kathy Wright, was recently honored by the Georgia Poet Society when her poem, “Strings”, was chosen Second Award for Excellence in the 2011 Member Poem Category.  She was invited to read her winning poem at the GPS Award Ceremony held on the campus of Kennesaw College. Her work will be published in the Society’s Annual Anthology, The Reach of Song.

Three other members of the Greensboro Writer’s Guild also had their works acknowledged by the Society.  Don Adam’s, “Cold Snap”, Elizabeth Howell’s, “Amaryllis Au Revoir” and Gay Williford’s, “Then and Now” will also be published in 2011 The Reach of Song anthology.
