The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation and Singleton Marine Group will make an end-of-summer splash in the last weekend of August with an action-packed Wakeboarding Weekend, featuring a series of exhilarating wakeboarding and wakesurfing clinics, exhibitions and packages — all culminating in a Summer Concert and fireworks display. Wakeboarders of all aptitudes will zigzag across beautiful Lake Oconee. Riveting exhibitions will showcase wake-savvy boarders demonstrating huge aerials and other skillful maneuvers.

Staff at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge — situated on Lake Oconee — designed the clinics to accommodate a growing guest demand and interest in this lake-friendly sport. Wakeboarding popularity has exploded in recent years — it’s easier than water skiing because of the maneuverability of the wakeboard itself. The schedule of events follows:

Saturday, Aug. 27:

Wakeboarding & Wakesurfing Clinics, complimentary for Lodge guests, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wakeboarding Exhibition, 5 to 7 p.m.

 

Sunday, Aug. 28:

Wakeboarding & Wakesurfing Clinics, complimentary for Lodge guests, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Children meet and greet with family entertainer Shannon Tanner, 7 to 7:30 p.m.

Concert featuring family entertainer Shannon Tanner, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Fireworks over Lake Oconee, 9:30 p.m.
