Rock Eagle 4-H Center is excited to announce its August Saturday at the Rock program. You are invited to join Rock Eagle staff for the Attracting Birds to Your Backyard program on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Participants will be able to discuss ways to encourage local song birds to visit their own backyards. The program will also include a visit from many of the local raptors housed at Rock Eagle, including a red tail hawk, a great horned owl, and an eastern screech owl.

“We will also be providing recycled materials for the younger participants to make their own bird feeder,” comments environmental education program coordinator, Matt Hammons.

Sessions are appropriate for all ages and cost $5 per person. This program includes an opportunity to visit Rock Eagle’s Natural History Museum and starts at 9:30 a.m. Session length is two hours. Advance registration is required.
