The highly anticipated grand re-opening of the Greene County Library took place Monday, Aug. 8 with a full house of well wishers in attendance.

Among those well-wishers were several members of the Greensboro Writers’ Guild, two of whom were asked to judge and present the award for the student essay contest.  The winner, Greene County High School senior, Nathan Banks accepted his award from GWG members, Kathy Wright and Don Adams.

Five members of the Guild presented works especially written for the occasion.

Reading for the audience were Linda Wagner, “One Man’s Dream,” Kathy Wright, “For the Brave,” Don Adams, “Absolute Adjectives,” Gay Williford, “E Pluribus Unum” and Kathrin Rudland, “A More Perfect Union.”
