Eatonton photo show deadline approaching

Published 8:00 am Wednesday, September 21, 2011

The Eatonton Putnam Arts Foundation will be accepting photographs through Monday, Sept. 26 for X-treme Exposures, a photography show and contest for advanced photographers. All advanced photographers are encouraged to join the fun of displaying your creative works. There are eleven categories and ribbons will be awarded in each category. Four cash prizes will be given for the Best in the Show. All details and entry requirements are on the EPAF web site, www.theplazaartscenter.com.

Entries will be judged by Mr. Lewis Bartlett, a free lance photographer who does both commercial and personal work. Bartlett attended the University of Georgia, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photographic design and has worked as a staff photographer for the University of Georgia Art Department.

Judging will take place Oct. 7 and a reception for the photographers and their families will be held that evening. Awards will be given then. The Best in Show photograph will be displayed in the Plaza Arts Center for six months. An amateur photography show and contest will be hosted by EPAF in the spring.

The show will be open to the public October 8 through 26 at the Plaza Arts Center, 305 N. Madison Avenue, Eatonton. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy photographs by some of the best photographers in Putnam County as well as the surrounding communities.
